Facial Laser Hair Removal

How Does It Work?

IPL or “Intense Pulsed Light,” creates pulses of broad-spectrum light that are selectively filtered and delivered into the skin. BBL HERO (BroadBand Light High Energy Rapid Output) advanced technology used at Lumera offers a faster, more comfortable, and effective option over traditional IPL methods.

This system targets the pigment in hairs, destroying the follicle and resulting in permanent hair reduction.

At Lumera we pride ourselves on having the latest technology and treatments from Sciton are no exception. Because of it’s effectiveness Laser Hair Removal has become one of our more popular treatments.

The Procedure

The procedure is very straight forward and simple. Our Aesthetician will begin by gently cleansing then applying ultrasound jelly over the treatment area.

Then the treatment starts by holding the light-emitting device directly over the problem area and using sweeping motions to deliver pulses of light into the treatment area. The typical treatment last about 30 minutes, longer for larger treatment areas.

The procedure has minimal discomfort and no associated down time.

The Result

The reduction of unwanted hair happens over time. Most patients require a series of at least 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart, as not all hair being targeted is in the growth (anagen) phase. The exact number of treatments depends on the area being treated, hair density, and individual response.

The upkeep of dealing with unwanted facial hair can be really time comsuming. Whether you are plucking, waxing, shaving, or using depilatory creams it’s always a chore to keep the unwanted hairs at bay. Destroying the follicle under the skin’s surface is the solution.
